On August 27, 2026, the Health Care Transformation Task Force (HCTTF) published a case study featuring Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's musculoskeletal care model, developed in collaboration with TRIARQ Health. The case study, titled Closing the Gap in MSK Care: Engaging Specialists Through Condition-Based Value Models, documents results from the model's first year of operation in 2025.
The model engages patients earlier in their care journey, directing members toward appropriate care, supporting evidence-based pathways, and preventing unnecessary procedures. A significant portion of the 2025 savings was distributed to participating physician partners (Health Care Transformation Task Force, 2026).
