Financial Resources
The federal government has expanded financial resources for small businesses including medical practices through the Small Business Administration (SBA) and CMS. The SBA programs include the Paycheck Protection Program and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program. CMS has modified its Advanced/Accellerated Payment Program.
Paycheck Protection Program (SBA)
As part of the CARES Act, the Small Business Administration has been given almost $350 Billion to help American small businesses get through the financial impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic. You can receive up to 2.5x your payroll through a loan/grant. Learn more about this program on our 1-page Fact Sheet.
Econimic Injury Disaster Loan Program (SBA)
This program is for people and businesses affected by natural disasters. Normally individuals and businesses can apply, but COVID-19 help is only for businesses. These loans are up to $2 million and rates are set at 3.75% for businesses and 2.75% for non-profit organizations. Both are amortized over 15-30 years. Accelerated/Advance Payments Program (CMS)
This program’s purpose is to provide cash-flow relief during a disruption in claims submissions and processing like the one we’re experiencing now. It’s important to remember that this is an advance, not a loan so you will need to plan carefully. Learn more on our 1-page Fact Sheet.
